QUESTION: Councillor Liam Sinclair

"A total of €16,149 has been allocated to Tallaght Leisure Centre under a Sport Ireland swimming pool grant. - Is there a clear indication of how this grant will be spent? - Who will recieve this funding, Tallaght Leisure Centre or SDCC?"

REPLY:

Sport Ireland was allocated funding to distribute to swimming pool operators that provided public access. The process was by way of application and a competitive process was used to determine the funding range.  Costs associated with the upkeep of the pool plant and equipment including energy and insurance costs continue to be incurred despite the centre remaining closed due to ongoing adherence to Covid restrictions.  Tallaght Leisure Centre made the application and the grant was used to offset some of these costs.

Tallaght Leisure Centre is managed by South County Dublin Leisure Serivices CLG which is a separate but associated company of the Council.
