MOTION NO. 10
MOTION: Councillor D. O'Donovan
That the Manager repairs the footpath leading from the entrance to the Woodfield Estate in Knocklyon up to Scholarstown Roundabout. A number of local residents have tripped and fallen here and the area is regularly flooded after rainfall, forcing people out onto the grass verges, making social distancing impossible.
REPORT:
The location was inspected 4th February by the Area Engineer and he reports that there are no trips along this section. These were repaired last year. The issue is with surface water as the verges have no soakage due to levels of rainfall (verges also higher than footpath). The Area Engineer has instructed direct labour to open up the verges to relieve surface water ponding.
