QUESTION NO. 17
QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin
"To ask the Chief Executive what his long term view is on the feasibility of banning HGV traffic from Newcastle Village given the noise pollution, air pollution, dirt, danger and traffic nuisance they cause to residents there?"
REPLY:
If SDCC can find evidence that HGV traffic is using Newcastle Village as a short cut or diversion route to avoid more suitable roads for HGV traffic, then this matter can be further considered. In all cases all vehicles that have a reason to visit the Village must retain that right.
