QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

"To ask the Chief Executive to issue a report into Tidy Towns and who is over this from South Dublin County Council? Also can the Executive confirm that all allocated Tidy Towns budget will go to Tidy Towns this year? What the budget is and how many Tidy Towns groups there are?

REPLY:

The budget provision for contributions to local tidy towns groups is €100k within Service D09 Economic Development and Promotion of the Council's 2021 Annual Budget.  Most recently the role of liaison with the various local groups has been managed within the community development team but a review of the programme and the role is being undertaken to optimise the supports for the ten registered local groups in the context of their work programmes and local priorities.

The Elected Members will be advised of the appropriate designated contact for local groups upon completion of the review.
