MOTION NO. 264

MOTION: Councillor Peter Kavanagh

To include the following as strategic direction for the plan: Infrastructure and Utilities · To ensure that residential areas in the county enable residents to work from home if required.

REPORT:

It is considered that the strategic objective set out in Part 3 Page 31 under the heading Economic Development and Employment provides sufficient scope to ensure the plan facilitates in so far as possible working from home. 

Recommendation:  It is recommended that this motion is adopted with amendment to recognise that it is encompassed under the CE Strategic Recommendation (See Part 3) page 31 Economic Development and Employment bullet no. 3 as follows;

‘Ensure flexibility to facilitate existing and future trends in economic development and employment, including identification of appropriate zoning objectives and being supportive of different ways of working whether from home or otherwise’.
