MOTION NO. 106

MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

In the section on Climate Action and Energy to add the following sentence: "Ensure that new developments with the potential for the supply and receipt of district heating are designed to accommodate a district heating network."

REPORT:

The Plan making process will incorporate a review of existing policy and objectives in relation to District Heating. The potential for District Heating in any area of the county is determined by an assessment of whether there is sufficient demand for energy to support a district heating facility, these areas will be assessed as part of the review process.

Recommendation:  It is recommended that this motion is adopted.
