MOTION NO. 13

MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell, Councillor P. Gogarty, Councillor L. O'Toole

MOTION:OVERARCHING STRATEGIC DIRECTION P26, add new bullet before the last bullet point 'Ensure that implementation of the Plan is reviewed annually against the stated objectives and a report brought to the elected members for consideration.'

REPORT:

The motion is not a strategic direction for the preparation of the Plan as required at this stage of the Plan process. 

Existing legislation requires a 2 year review of implementation of policies and objectives of the County Development Plan which is brought to Members. In addition, the strategic objectives of the Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) which is a part of the Plan, are required to be monitored on an ongoing basis.

Recommendation:

It is recommended that the motion is not adopted.
