MOTION: Councillor M. Johansson

Motion 3: To add the following In the section on Population Growth and Housing to amend the following section as outlined: 'Promote compact growth in line with the NPF and RSES through the inclusion of specific policies and targeted and measurable implementation measures that: o encourage infill / brownfield development o focus growth on the County's designated strategic development areas and o if necessary, provides for the use of Compulsory Purchase Orders to achieve this.'

REPORT:

The addition of text is considered appropriate as National and Regional Planning Policy promote this form of active land management to encourage urban regeneration of brownfield lands.

Recommendation:  

It is recommended that the Motion be adopted.
