QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor Clare O'Byrne
With regard to the July Stimulus Programme, to ask the Chief Executive: (i) if all cycling and walking initiatives were completed by the November 2020 deadline (in tabular form), and if not, which initiatives are delayed? (ii) what percentage of the funding received was spent on road surfacing?
REPLY:
The Council successfully made application for funding under the 2020 July Job Stimulus Programme.
A suite of proposals totalling €2,440,995 was submitted relating to the following:
(See attached SDCC projects approved for reference)
All works approved in the Grant Application have been successfully completed. The reason for the slight variation in the final claim is that in some cases the cost of some of the works “came in” under anticipated price as set out in the grant application, while other works were slightly over. Accordingly a final claim for €2,390,469 was submitted (and paid by NTA to SDCC) before year end 2020.
The percentage allocated to Road Maintenance/Footpath Repairs was 49% and Cycle Track Maintenance was 30%. The balance related to cycle parking and civil works.
