QUESTION NO. 5

QUESTION: Councillor Carly Bailey

To ask the Chief Executive whether a county wide social and community infrastructure audit will be carried out to help inform the work of the next SDCC County Development Plan for 2022-2028 and to ask that this be broken down to at least Local Electoral Area level, rather than neighbourhoods as currently proposed.

REPLY:

A social infrastructure audit is being carried out by the Development Plan team to inform the County Development Plan. It will indicate a breakdown of existing provision and need for the County and for each Neighbourhood Area (NA), as these were identified in the Strategic Issues Papers.  It is recognised that there may be different provision within settlement areas within each Neighbourhood and these will be identified as part of the audit. The audit will apply a projected growth to each NA to provide an overall assessment of future need within the lifetime of the Plan. It is intended that the Development Plan will include graphic illustrations for each NA identifying existing and proposed future facilities/needs aligned to relevant objectives. However, the audit will not specifically identify Electoral Areas noting that these too cross different settlement areas.
