QUESTION NO. 8

QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin

Have the costs associated with the amended motion on public toilets agreed at the October 2020 meeting of full council (Motion 1) been included in the SDCC budget for 2021 that was passed at the Thursday 26th November meeting of full council? If so please provide the details.

REPLY:

The amended Motion 1 from October 2020, as agreed, stated "This Council requests the CE to carry out a feasibility study and costing to install self-cleaning outdoor public toilets on the high streets of each of the seven local electoral areas of the county and to liaise with the City of Paris if any advice on the matter needed.”

This feasiblity study will be carried out within the resources of the Environment, Water and Climate Change Directorate and will be considered by the SPC during 2021. A budgetry provision for such public toliets would not be made in advance of a report from the feasibility study.
