QUESTION NO. 12
QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan
To ask the Chief Executive as to what cleanup activities are planned for the Northern part of Ballyowen Lane Park, and if it could be seen as a potential location for a biodiversity garden.
REPLY:
The northern section of Cluain Rí Park (Ballyowen Lane Park) is a wooded area approximately 2,800 square metres in size. Thinning works were carried out within the woodland during the 2018 and 2019 pruning seasons. The area suffers from frequent littering and dumping which requires continuous cleaning. A thorough cleanup of the area will be carried out in spring 2021 which will include the cutting back of vegetation. Due to the shaded nature of the site and the ongoing littering issue it would be unsuitable for a biodiversity garden.
