COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN/PALMERSTON/NORTH CLONDALKIN AREA COMMITTEE

MOTION NO. 2
MOTION: Councillor P. Gogarty
That the Chief Executive reports on progress following membersrep 1586599 to clear dumping at Kishoge (address supplied) as well as measures to deal with vermin and prevent further incidents by a minority of residents in this estate through the installation of CCTV; and if a statement can be made on the matter.
REPORT:
A Section 14 Direction, under the provisions of the Waste Management Acts, was served on the landowners in March 2017 requiring them to remove waste on this area of land and to secure their boundaries. The landowner complied with the Direction in full. The ownership of this land has since changed hands. At that time, it was noted the boundary treatment at this location was at a height that allowed ease of dumping to take place from the roadway at this location. The boundary treatment was put in by the Council’s Housing Department as part of the construction of the accommodation at this location. The boundary was previously monitored by CCTV operated by the Housing Department. It is understood that the CCTV is no longer operational due to ongoing vandalism.
