QUESTION NO.5
QUESTION: Councillor T. Costello
"To ask the Chief Executive if he can confirm how many units received either windows or door replacement in the Tallaght Area in the year to date?"
REPLY:
To date, Housing Maintenance has installed windows/door replacements in 19 properties in the Tallaght Area.
The windows and doors replacement programme will be undertaken on an estate by estate basis north and south of the Naas Road. The initial works will be focused on homes that require full replacement of window and door units at an estimated cost of €8,000 per home. Preliminary inspections commenced in September and approximately one hundred homes are listed for full replacement in Phase 1 in the following areas in Tallaght: Allenton, Avonbeg, Avonmore, Bawnlea, Bolbrook, Brookview, Castle Park, Cloonmore along with certain additional medical and other priority cases.
Our housing planned maintenance team is now finalising the agreed works list with our contractors who will then liaise with individual tenants to measure the units required at their homes before undertaking the fabrication, supply and installation as required for each property. All works will be subject to appropriate health and safety procedures by all parties in accordance with the National Framework for Living with Covid 19. In addition, tenants will be required to ensure that the contractors has the necessary access to homes for measuring and installation works at the necessary times.
