MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor E. Murphy

That South Dublin County Council moves to take in charge the wooden bridge between Edmondstown Road and Prospect Manor. The bridge has been continually damaged and is being consistently repaired by the Council - the bridge needs to be replaced as it is a serious hazard at present.

 

REPORT:

 The pedestrian bridge that exists between these two locations is already TIC by EWCC Department. The bridge has a steel structure and a timber deck. There is some flexibility in the deck and this department will liaise with Public Realm to establish if a Structural survey is required.

If structural issues are not identified, then Public Realm hope to replace the entire bridge deck in the coming year.
