QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty

To ask the Manager for a further update on noise mitigation in Palmerstown sought from the R148/M50 junction and as far as Palmerstown Cemetery in terms of tangible actions taken to date as a result by TII and to indicate whether follow up correspondence is required at this stage.

REPLY:

The TII is responsible for the M50.

Noise monitors along on the Old Lucan Road relative to the M50 indicate night time noise levels consistently above 55dB(A). 

Environmental health officials have been in regular contact with TII in relation to this matter but have been unsuccessful in getting a response.

Further contact will be made with TII seeking their comments on the adequacy of measures to minimise noise pollution at this location.
