MOTION NO. 9

MOTION: Councillor L. O'Toole

This committee requests the Chief Executive to report on the number of AHB that are currently involved in Lucan/Palmerstown/North Clondalkin area. The members agree to sending an invite to the AHB to attend an area meeting and make a presentation to the members.

REPORT:

The Housing Department hosted an Approved Housing Bodies Forum on the 24^th of September with Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and Fingal County Council. Each Local Authority is required to hold an AHB Forum on a quarterly basis as set out by the Department of Housing, Planning and Local Government. It was agreed that Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and Fingal County Council and South Dublin County Council would rotate the hosting of the Forum.  The matter of AHBs addressing the Councils' elected representatives was raised during the forum with a request for each Council to facilitate a briefing from Approved Housing Bodies. This briefing will be arranged in the near future.  There are a number of properties which are owned and managed by the AHBs in this Local Electoral Area.
