QUESTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy
To ask the Chief Executive Officer to give an update on improvements and planned improvements to Lucan Demesne
REPLY:
South Dublin County Council have advertised a tender for appointment of a multi-disciplinary team led by landscape architects to re-purpose the existing car park at Lucan Demesne. The works will include:
Removal of existing carpark to house a new plaza/event space including permanent landscaping. The new plaza will include visitor facilities including a water font, wifi point, phone charger points, seating, other plaza electrical connections and a visitor information point. An automated bike locker unit and a bike maintenance pod will also be included.
It is intended to re-locate the car parking to a suitable location in the nearby vicinity. The provision of the new car park will be provided prior to the removal of the existing car park. Loading/ on-loading and accessible car park spaces for people with decreased mobility / requiring wheelchair access will be accommodated within the new plaza area.
