QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan
To ask the Chief Executive as to what outreach has taken place between the LEO and business owners in Palmerstown, Lucan and North Clondalkin, and to provide relevant data by category of support and by location of business.
REPLY:
LEO South Dublin has been working with the business owners of Micro and Small enterprises who have been impacted by COVID 19 right across the county including those of Palmerstown, Lucan and North Clondalkin.
A copy of the presentation by LEO to the SPC meeting is attached. COVID-19 Supports Presentation SPC 8.09.2020 This presentation highlights the key direct supports ( Re-start Grant/ Restart Plus Grant, Business Continuity Voucher and Trading Online Voucher) and also the special Mentoring and Training Supports (virtual) that have and continue to be offered plus support for all businesses applying for Microfinance Loan facilities. The details on applications are based on the county as a whole and are not broken up by LEA.
LEO are currently offering free Customs Workshops and one to one Brexit Mentoring (again Virtual) to any businesses impacted by Brexit.
The Council Budget also provide for the Business Support Funds (BSF) scheme which include four funds which are targeted to address key issues in industrial areas in the County namely
The BSF also includes Microenterprise/Start-up Support which encourages new micro enterprise owners who upgrade an existing vacant premises to avail of a graduated “rates holiday” for up to two years.
LEO South Dublin and South Dublin Chamber continue to engage with the stakeholders across a number of Industrial areas in the county A direct marketing campaign to increase awareness is planned for next month (November) which will include a direct mail into targeted across South Dublin estates to encourage engagement with business owners under BSF. This is also being supported by a Bus Shelter Adverts and Advertorial in the local South Dublin newspapers.
