QUESTION NO. 29
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
This committee is aware of the work carried out in regards to implementation of safety measures in and around housing estates, schools etc. A lot of emphasis is around installing ramps. What can we do as a council to promote other measures available. Could the councils social media platforms be looked at. it has been successful in many other awareness programmes.
REPLY:
There is considereable promotion work being carried out in the area of school safety at present.
Separately, there is a Ramps programme aimed mainly at slowing taffic in residential streets on a very limited budget and which is being presented under its own heading to the members. Occasionally Ramps under this budget are requested near schools in residential areas and this is acceptable. This budget is ringfenced for Ramps.
