Charlie O'Connor
REPLY:
Under the government's July Stimulus Package, the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH) has recently provisionally approved funding for this Council in the sum of €3.38 million for 248 vacant homes (voids) that are in the process of having refurbishment works carried out or for which such works have recently been compelted. The funding relates to voids for the period 2019-2020. In addition, DHLGH has also provided additional funding totaling €165,250 for homes that were refurbished and relet to minimise the impact of Covid-19.
The works carried out during refurbishment may include window and door replacements, kitchen installations, bathroom works, heating and electrical works. Each unit is inspected by our technical staff and following their inspection the relevant works are undertaken.
