QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To ask the Chief Executive as to what provision is being made to perform tree maintenace where trees are obstructing footpaths and cycle lanes, or where they have completely obscured street lights. 

REPLY:

The Tree Maintenance programme identifies areas requiring tree work. In the process of preparing the tree maintenance work programme, all trees in the area are surveyed. Low branches, overhanging branches and branches growing next to street lights are identified for work. In addition areas not on the maintenance programme are inspected to identify if there is a need for immediate work.
