MOTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

That the possibility of a community garden at Griffeen Valley will be considered.

REPORT:

The Council is positively disposed to the idea of Community Gardens and there are a number of these currently in South Dublin, some of which have been supported directly by the Council. To progress a Community Garden requires the existence of a local group that can coordinate the work and liaise with the Council when required. The Group should also have some idea of a possible site that might suit the group.

If there is a local group then the committee should make contact with the Council to progress the idea.
