MOTION NO. 6

MOTION: Councillor L. Dunne

This Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to install public street lighting along the N81 & N82 between bus stop 2590 on the N81 on Blessington Road and the junction of N82 and to trim Tree branches to allow light to reach the street on Magna Drive.

REPORT:

The N81 is in charge of Transport Infrastructure Ireland and, as such, all changes/additions/upgrades to any part of this national route must be approved and funded by them. We have been in negotiation with them to install the public lighting that has been requested and an application for the approporiate funding has been submitted to them.

We are optimistic that a positive response will be recieved from them in the short to medium term, so that we can proceed with the installation of additional public lighting at this location.
