MOTION: Councillor C. Jones

"That this committee supports the initiation of a register to contain a detailed list of residential estate management companies in the Tallaght Area."

REPORT:

Estate Management Committees have been established in a number of Council housing estates in South Dublin but these consist of groups formed by residents.  

In the case of private housing, Estate Management Companies have been established in many cases and these are private companies generally where the owners of the properties concerned are shareholders. 

Details of these Estate Management Companies are available from the Company Registrations Office.  

There is no obligation on the Council to maintain such a register which in effect would duplicate the records available in the Company Registrations Office.
