QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons

To ask the Chief Executive for a report into when will work start on boardwalk at Civic Offices Clondalkin? What is the delay and what is the estimated cost of work?

REPLY:

Following on from the successful conclusion of the tender process for the contract, Bretland Construction Ltd were recommended and appointed to complete the works. Bretland have successfully completed many high-quality Public Realm projects for South Dublin County Council.

The contractor has carried out all necessary surveys and inspections on site to confirm the full scope of works. The structural steel and paving materials have been ordered. There is a lead in time on the materials and it is expected that the works will commence on site in three weeks’ time. The works will take two weeks to complete, one week for demolitions and removal of the old boardwalk and one week to install the new deck and paving. The works are due to be complete by mid-October.

The contract sum for the works is €29,641.50 plus VAT.
