QUESTION: Councillor C. O'Connor
To ask the Chief Executiveto confirm actions being taken to deal with Homeless cases during these difficult times; will he detail numbers and make a statement?
REPLY:
The Council's homeless supports have continued to operate throughout the Covid-19 pandemic and, in conjunction with the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive (DRHE), HSE and various otehr partners, have continued to provide a broad range of critical services for households requiring supports during this current climate. All such households are encouraged to make contact with our homeless unit by phone at 01-4149364 or by email to sdcchomeless@sdublincoco.ie while our freephone number(1800 707 707) is also available out of hours for those in need of emergency accommodation.
Our homeless unit are operating in-person appointments in the office only where absolutely necessary and any such appointments will be arranged by our team in line with appropriate health and safety and related requirements.
Any person(s) in receipt of a valid notice to quit can contact the team using the conmtact details above office for advice and the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) at the higher rate remains available to applicants who are at imminent risk of losing their tenancy.
