What resources are available from the Council to assist community development in Adamstown, what supports are available to local groups and what funding to groups or events or otherwise has been made available to the local community in Adamstown in the past year?
REPLY:
The Local Community Development is available to advise and assist any local community groups in the Adamstown area.
The Community Services Dept continues to assist and support the new Adamstown Youth and Community Centre and provides substantial funding to assist the management of the centre.
A wide variety of local community events organised by local community groups have also received both guidance and funding assistance from the Community Services Dept, including Summer Projects, Adamstown Family Fun Day, Adamstown Street Feast, Health & Wellbeing events and a Halloween Disco.
The Council's Sports Office also continues to support the local sports groups in the area and assisted in the establishment of late night football league for the area.
