QUESTION: Councillor Joanna Tuffy

To ask if for the next meeting that a location where physical distancing can be implemented will be considered and that if this needs to be a venue outside of County Hall can consideration be given to having a venue for a meeting in the area covered by the Lucan, Palmerstown and Fonthill electoral areas.

REPLY:

In order to follow Covid 19 public health advice and adhere to social distancing restrictions agreement was reached by the CPG and Council in May to hold Council meetings in a venue other than County Hall to allow for all 40 members to attend, and to hold Area Committee meetings using remote technology.

To facilitate a Council meeting in one room Corporate Services and Facilities Management considered various facilities across South Dublin County. Having reviewed meeting requirements and venue availability, the National Basketball Arena was proposed as the most suitable venue for members to consider.
