MOTION NO. 14

MOTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

Given the new emphasis (and practice) of walking and cycling by young, teenagers and adults and given that there are two primary schools and a number of creches in the area as well as a thriving retail centre at Manor Road, to ask the Chief Executive when will the 3.5T restriction be installed on the cell between the Oval and the Wheatfield Rd/Kennesfort Road junction and that he make a statement on the matter.

REPORT:

 The Executive will write to Lucan Garda Station and ask them to provide guidance on the matter.

In conjunction with the proposed SDCC School Street Programme there may be opportunity for the Schools to come on board with the SDCC Road Safety Officer and seek to have certain streets nominated for the above during school times.

The wider times remains a matter for AGS.
