QUESTION NO.2

QUESTION: Councillor Yvonne Collins

To ask the Chief Executive to set out the procedure, in step by step form, which must be followed by residents who wish to apply for their estates to be taken in charge, with particular emphasis on situations where the developer is no longer available to do so, to include the conditions for holding a plebiscite and the procedure for holding a plebiscite, and any relevant paperwork which must be completed in order to effect the taking in charge

REPLY:

In the first instance, the residents can request a copy of a blank plebiscite form for completion to start the procedure. Alternatively, since the form is not prescribed, the residents can make their own form which asks all residents: Do they agree or disagree with offering the development for TIC to SDCC. It should be pointed out that TIC is generally restricted to: Roads, Footpaths, Open Space, Sewers and any other items of general public utility.
