MOTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

That this Area Committee calls on the Chief Executive to amend the current parking scheme in Lucan village to allow for an exemption for persons attending the doctors surgery for medical appointments such exemption to be provided were persons attending the surgery display on their vehicles a parking ticket stamped by the doctors surgery confirming their attendance in the surgery.

REPORT:

There is no provision in the current ByeLaws for such an exemption, and any such provision would be required to apply countywide.

However, the 2010 Parking Bye Laws are currently under review and will be subject to a full public consultation process. If made during a public consultation process, a submission to this effect would be considered in the context of the Chief Executive's report to Council on the public consultation.  The final decision will rest with the Elected Members in the making of new ByeLaws at a full Council Meeting.
