MOTION NO. 12

MOTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

That this Area Committee calls for the upgrading of the street lighting on Palmerstown Avenue, given the state of disrepair of footpaths on part of the road.

REPORT:

The public lighting at this estate forms part of our LED Upgrade Programme for 2020 and onwards.

There are particular technical issues attached to the upgrade of pre 1990s housing estates which are currently being address at a national level. This has caused a delay in our upgrading of estates such as these.

We have an initial programme collated and preparatory work done to start this new phase of our county wide LED Upgrade.

However, we are awaiting a decision at national level before we can proceed with this. A briefing letter will be issued to all elected members as soon as we receive clear direction on this matter.
