Implementation of Community Grants Funding Hub

Work has commenced in conjunction with South Dublin Volunteer Centre to develop and devliver a new online funding hub for the Council's community grants in 2020.

Currently, all community grants and sport grants are managed through paper or electronic copy grant application forms.  Under the proposed online funding hub, applicants will be able to submit their application in full on line providing a more efficient and streamlined grant application process for applicants and associated grant management and reporting enhancements. The system will provide analytical reporting to assist desicion making ensuring targetted funding for key priority areas and activities supporting and directing of funding to those areas which are most disadvantaged.  The outline system was developed by the South Dublin Volunteer System who are supporting its development for this community grant funding hub.

The community development team will deliver workshops on the 2020 community grants that will include an overview of the funding hub.

The key timelines for the project are:

Bringing the community grants online is the first phase of developing the funding hub with phase 2 to focus on building the back-end system requirments for community infrastructure grants later this year.

Single Round of Community Grants

As agreed at the December 2019 SPC, for 2020, there will be 1 round of community grants.

It is proposed to set aside 5% of the community grant budget for 2020 to provide support and assistance to new groups established after the deadline for grant applications.
