QUESTION: Councillor Eoin Ó Broin
"To ask the Chief Executive to list the social housing estates and number of houses in each in the LEA which have received energy efficiency upgrades in 2019 and to list those estates and the numbers of houses in each in which such measures are planned for 2020. Please also list the general measures themselves e.g. attic insulation, that constitute the standard package of energy efficiency measures undertaken on Social Housing in South Dublin County Council?"
REPLY:
Detailed below is a list of social housing units by area which have received energy efficiency upgrades in 2019:
- Shancastle Estate, Clondalkin – 92 Properties
- Old Tower Crescent, Clondalkin – 24 Properties
- Kiltalown Estate, Tallaght – 132 properties
To date works have been completed in 2020 for:
- Quarry Drive, Perrystown – 26 properties
- Neilstown Estate, Clondalkin – 85 properties
In addition, there are currently works been undertaken in 51 properties in Glenshane Crescent, Tallaght and Dunawley Estate, Clondalkin – 20 properties. There are also plans to complete 84 additional properties which includes homes in Castle Park, Castle Lawns, Tallaght, Rathlawns, Rathcoole and Michael Collins Park, James Connolly Park and Nangor Crescent in Clondalkin.
Subject to funding being available we are currently investigating other properties for inclusion in the 2020 programme.
Works under Phase 1 include:
- Attic Insulation
- Tank Replacement if required and insulation of pipework
- Pumping of Cavity Wall
- Kitchen and Bathroom Fans
- Ventilation Sitting room and bedrooms
