MOTION: Councillor F. Timmons

"That this Area Committee asks Libraries to run a campaign and issue a poster, and hold talks on how our PR voting system works that is open to members of the Public who would like to know how PR works, and that voter registration could be held on the same nights."

REPORT:

As part of the programme of work for the Corporate Services Department, there is a plan to carry out a citizen awareness campaigns on the importance of being on the electoral register and of voting. This plan will result in activities that will be publicised on our website and through social media.

If this motion is passed, an awareness piece will be included in this work to explain PR voting.
