MOTION: Councillor E. Murphy

To ask SDCC for an explanation for the removal of the kissing gate between Moyville and Whitechurch Estates and for SDCC to provide details on their proposals for what will replace the gate. 

REPORT:

The Public Realm Section recieved a member’s representation on behalf of a resident of Whitechurch Estate who uses a mobility scooter, complaining that the kissing gate at the access from Whitechurch into Moyville Estate did not allow them access through.  This matter was examined, and it was decided that the best way to resolve the matter was to remove the kissing gate and install a lockable/removable bollard in its place.  This has now been completed and the matter will now be kept under review to determine if any further works or modifications are required.
