QUESTION NO. 2

QUESTION: Councillor Carly Bailey

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the progress regarding commitments given at the Deputation meeting for Cherryfield Residents Association held on Sept 25th.

1: Refurb of the tennis courts & Basketball pitches.

2: Extension of playground - improvements to perimeter.

3: Cleaning of Laneways

4: Replacement Tree of those felled, removal of trees and tree pruning.

5: Footpath repairs.

REPLY:

1.  Refurbishment of the tennis courts has been completed.  Repairs have been carried out as necessary to all tennis courts.  All six courts have been cleaned and relined.  New posts and nets have been fitted on two of the courts, new nets and posts have also been purchased for the remaining four courts and these are in storage for the moment.  The basketball court has been fully resurfaced and new nets and supporting frames have been provided.  

2.  A substantial fence has been erected around the playspace, there are no plans to extend it.

3.  The twice yearly Dublin 12 laneway cleaning programme has commenced, issues which arose in 2019 with regard to the removal of weeds will be addressed during the first round of cleaning in 2020.

4.  There are plans to plant approximately 20 replacement trees at locations which have been identified on Beechfield Road, Cherryfield Road and Cherryfield Drive.  Planting will take place this spring.

5.  The Roads Dept have confirmed that they have included Cherryfield for footpath repairs in the 2020 Roadworks programme.
