QUESTION: Councillor E. O'Brien

To ask the Chief Executive to update this area committee in relation to illegal encampment on the old school site adjacent to Foxborough estate following the recent court order directing those in occupation of the site to vacate it.

REPLY:

Following a High Court order made on Monday 18^th November 2019, the illegal occupiers were to vacate the Old School Site by 5 pm on 15^th January 2020 and remove all caravans and all other objects from the property. As the site as not been vacated in accordance with the High Court order, the remaining occupiers are now in breach of the order of the Court. The matter is listed before the High Court again on 27^th January 2020.

Our staff are liaising with relevant contractors, legal advisors and Gardai to make arrangements to enforce the court order that the families at the site in Balgaddy consented to last November.
