QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To ask the Chief Executive for an update on the funds spent supporting Halloween activities for community groups in the Lucan and Palmerstown-Fonthill electoral areas.

REPLY:

Community Services has made provisions to ringfence an annual budget of €20,000 to support local community groups across the county, with some of the costs associated with organising local Family Friendly Fun Community Events to help celebrate Halloween.

The local community development team circulated and encouraged the submission of applications from a number of local groups in the Lucan and Palmerstown-Fonthill areas. North Clondalkin CDP returned an application, this was duly assessed and funds of €4000 were approved.
