QUESTION: Councillor Shane Moynihan

To ask the Chief Executive for an update as to the development of Letts Field into a playing pitch and if he will make a statement on the matter. 

REPLY:

Following the completion of the housing at Letts Field, the contractor delayed completion of the landscape, citing poor weather conditions at the time scheduled for the work. The Council has requested that the landscape company be replaced as the reasons given are not acceptable. The work is now scheduled to be carried out from February/March following the start of the new growing season.

 The Council has retained monies from the contractor and a further failure to complete works will result in the Council completing the work from the retained monies.
