MOTION NO. 1

MOTION: Councillor Alan Hayes

That the chief executive agrees to provide a report with a range of possibilities for the maintenance of the laneway leading from Glenvale estate in Lucan to the R136.

Including: increased public lighting, resurfacing works to the northern boundary of the lane to prevent groups loitering and to improve appearance while protecting the privacy of the houses within the Glenvale estate.

REPORT:

The surface of the laneway in in reasonably good condition. No trip hazards or potholes. Slight blemish on macadam surface where some item (a cone?) was set on fire.

Hedges on either side have been trimmed.

There are 3 PL poles with LED lanterns- recently installed. See attached photo.

Some weeds are present at the edges and there is some litter strewn around.

No immediate civil works appear necessary. The area requires a clean-up and might benefit from a litter bin at the end of the lane.
