COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN/PALMERSTOWN/FONTHILL AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, January 28, 2020
QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor L. O'Toole
To ask the Chief Executive to re-examine the roundabout in Lucan village (on Chapel Hill) west of the entrance at Sarsfield’s park, with a view to designing two lanes heading straight (west) as this would alleviate traffic congestion and allow for local residents to continue straight whilst majority of drivers are turning right over the Liffey bridge
REPLY:
Such an arrangement is not recommended as it would remove the necessary deflection for west bound traffic, encourage speeding and have major safety implications.
