That the Chief Executive report on the number of people homeless or on the housing list with current addresses within the area covered by this Committee including the number who have expressed a preference to live South of the Naas Road.
REPORT:
As at December 31st, there were 588 households registered as homeless with South Dublin Co. Co. This can be broken down as follows:
Single Male: 277
Single Female: 57
Couples: 13
Families: 241
478 homeless households have expressed a preference to live South of the Naas Road.
If an individual or family is assessed as homeless, temporary accommodation, where available, is organized through our placement service. Temporary options include night by night hostel accommodation, family hubs and supported temporary accommodation. Households can be accommodated in emergency accommodation anywhere in the Dublin region therefore it is not possible to give a breakdown of homeless households in this Committee area.
The following breakdown gives the numbers on the regular housing list, with number of applications from this Committee area.
