QUESTION: Councillor Alan Hayes
To ask the Chief Executive for a clear breakdown of the roads and lanes that have been swept for debris and leaves since October 2019 to today and to present this in a tabular format broken down by road/laneway name and electoral area.
REPLY:
The Council's road sweeping contract includes the sweeping and cleaning of all housing estate roads on a quarterly basis, and the sweeping and cleaning of main roads on a monthly basis. The majority of locations have been swept already in the fourth quarter of the year, with a small number of locations to be swept during the current week. These road sweeping arrangements will resume from January 2nd. The road sweeping contract also includes a leaf removal service during the months of September to January inclusive, whereby areas have leaf sweeping and collection carried out on request from local residents. It should be noted that laneway cleaning is not included in these contract arrangements, cleaning of laneways is carried out by the Council's own staff.
The following is a list of locations in the Lucan electoral area where leaf sweeping has been requested since the start of October and completed by the Council's road sweeping contractor Oxigen Environmental Ltd.
