QUESTION NO. 7
QUESTION: Councillor F. Timmons
"To ask the Chief Executive would South Dublin County Council hold information sessions in Clondalkin Library on cyberbullying and internet safety for Parents and to make a statement on same. Also to use social media etc. to advertise of such sessions?"
REPLY:
"SDCC library service have previously held talks in the library on Cyber Bullying for Parents, which were run in conjunction with Barnardos, and although it was advertised extensively, including through social media, the uptake of the talks were limited.
There is a talk planned for 28th January in Clondalkin Library on ‘Helping Children and Teens Cope with Anxiety’ by Psychotherapist Ms. Deirdre O’Shea, and this talk may include an element on cyberbullying and coping with the pressures of social media for young people".
