COMHAIRLE CONTAE ÁTHA CLIATH THEAS
SOUTH DUBLIN COUNTY COUNCIL
MEETING OF LUCAN/PALMERSTOWN/FONTHILL AREA COMMITTEE
Tuesday, December 17, 2019
QUESTION NO. 9
QUESTION: Councillor P. Gogarty
To ask the Manager if the Council can ensure that internet access is reinstated at the Jennings Library, Palmerstown, as this has been unavailable for some time and it is advertised as one of the South Dublin Libraries, albeit in Partnership with Stewarts Care.
REPLY:
“A service provider engaged by Stewart’s Care decommissioned equipment that provided Internet access connection to the John J. Jennings Library, which resulted in the services offered by SDCC Library Service unable to operate. A new line had to be requested and was installed this week. SDCC are liaising with Stewart’s Care to arrange a site visit to reconnect the library services offered by South Dublin Libraries. Our technical support company need to be on site to facilitate this process and we have arranged an appointment for this work to be carried out as soon as possible”.
