QUESTION NO. 1
QUESTION: Councillor Carly Bailey
To ask the Chief Executive the number of boarded up Council homes and unoccupied Council homes in both electoral areas and to confirm if 14 weeks is still the average turnaround time for same, whether a new contractor has been allocated to carry out works or not, whether this has helped or not and what the Council plans to do to speed this process up.
REPLY:
There are currently two (2) unoccupied properties in Rathfarnham Area. The average turnaround time for this area is 10.4 weeks, but is this is dependent on the remedial works and service connections (ESB/GAS) required to the property.
The recent appointment of new contractors for re-let works has seen a reduction in the period taken to carry out required construction and repair works involved which should result in continued reductions in vacancy periods.
