QUESTION NO. 2
QUESTION: Councillor M. Johansson
To ask the Chief Executive how many reports of bonfire materials were received prior to Halloween in the area, including which sites, and how many of those sites had bonfire material removed?
REPLY:
There were 27 reports of bonfire material received via the customer care system in October prior to Halloween. The sites included the estates of Rowlagh, Foxborough, Tor an Rí, Shancastle, Quarryvale, Earlsfort and St. Marks. Reports were also received for Ballyowen Lane, Collinstown Park, and Waterstown Park. In addition to the above staff were actively collecting material in parks and open spaces that were not reported. All locations in public ownership that were reported had material collected from them. Priority locations targeted for collections included those where bonfires were being constructed in close proximity to houses, power lines, roadsides and transport routes.
