QUESTION NO. 1

QUESTION: Councillor G. O'Connell

That the Chief Executive report on the illegal dumping in Balgaddy (through the entrance to the former School site) and to give details on when it started and what steps the Council has taken to prevent it as it is a source of great concern to the local community.

REPLY:

South Dublin County Council attended court on Monday 18th November 2019 and a court order was obtained directing the trespassers to vacate the Old School Site, Balgaddy on or before the 15th January 2020.

To date, SDCC Waste Enforcement Officers have been unable to identify any of the persons responsible for the illegal dumping but they are working closely with the Housing Department to try to resolve the situation.
